Here are a few photos from last night. It was a great evening though the poor girls had clearly barely been able to recover from the arduous journey from Abu Dees. The highlight for everyone I think was hearing the girls themselves each say something about themselves, their circumstances and their hopes and dreams. It brought home to people here that Palestinians like everyone else have normal lives and aspirations. They are not just 'numbers' as Abdul Wahab said. The slide you put up with the list of "Children's Rights" was also very poignant because every single one of those (+ the one about having a right to visit the coast and see the sea of your own country) are all things that their counterparts here and in so many civilised countries take for granted - the right the live their lives with dignity and respect (as Bernie Sanders said recently). A big THANK YOU to you and all the team at CADFA and also to Abdel Wahab and the other minders for making it all happen and wishing them a wonderful, enriching and fascinating rest of visit to the UK. Tahya Felesteen!
